Domestic Equities focuses on individual equities, index funds, mutual funds, and other packaged products that strictly invest in U.S. stocks. The domestic equities group aims to introduce a team of student analysts to the 11 sectors of U.S. stocks. This will be accomplished primarily through researching companies, analyzing financial statements, and using comparative analysis within industries. This process will lead to analysts creating a deck that will be presented to TCSIF during a weekly all-fund meeting. Students will gain experience in researching equities with the Bloomberg terminals, learning how to interpret different companies’ SEC filings, and analyzing key metrics. They will expand their ability to gauge the liquidity, profitability, and valuation of a company, and learn about the additional research that comes with packaged products such as management expenses, turnover, and risk.
